DID YOU KNOW THAT ONE OF MY BEST FRIENDS ...
is from Egypt?
We met at a site where you can find penfriend or new friends. We talked together for a while at the site. We got to know eachother well, and learned to know eachother. Since his from Egypt, he's a muslim, and Ive learned a lot about the religion aswell. When you see a religion from a perspective, without knowing a thing about it, you can get a very bad picture, but Ive learned to know all of the good sides aswell.
Mido (or Mohammed) is 34 years old. Hes very good in english, wich makes it easier for us to communicate. That hes older than me, is a plus. 8 of 10 persons at the site where we met wanted to talk about sex, but he didnt. Mido thought me how to see things from more than one side, something that I appriciate today. He also thought me to appriciate what I have. I was in my teens, and didnt know much about life, other than what sircled around me back then (and that was not much)...
We talk every now and then over MSN and sometimes sms when the internet is down. Since its really expensive to send sms outside norway we dont do that so often. I allways get messages at new years eve and for my birthday, something that i allways look forward to and get exited about. Its fun to know that a person all across the world remembers my birthday - and he havent even met me in person!
Wich I can clearly see is that we live in two different worlds. He gets shocked if i say that I gave another boy a hug, or that I went partying. He isnt used to our world, like im not used to his. But nobody here thinks wrong about our way of living, just like they think the same about themselves. Ive learned a great deal about his "world" and I hope that he learned a lot from me aswell.
Another thing that Ive noticed is how much he appriciate life, and every day that comes. He has been thought to appriciate everything, and he doesnt complain about much. if hes sick, ofc, but who doesnt? Egypt can have over 40 degreese, and i would have complained as well.
The reason why I write to you about Mido right now, is because I miss him a great deal. If you have read the news, or watched the newschannels, then you know that Egypt is whiped off the internetmap. They dont have phones or any form of communication outside of egypt. I dont get any replies on emails or sms, and i miss to hear "todays happy message" either its about how lucky we are to be alive or that we should smile more. Mido is funny! He allways get me to laugh or smile, and he is allways honest! If I have a problem, I speak to him. Hes in Egypt, therefore hes neutral when I need advice.
I would very much like to meet him, but I dont know if Im capable. First, its unbelivable hard to get a passport from egypt to norway, thats why I have to go to Egypt. Second, I dont want to travel that far alone. Per-Anders said that he will travel with me, so that I can meet him, but now we cant go this fall anymore. Egypt is a mess, sorry, but the news put it that way, and I dont want to go there like this. But Im goint to meet him, SOME DAY! :) We have talked for so many years now, it would be a tragedy not to do it when he is one of the persons in this world that i trust the most and love the most!
